Our made-to- measure business model is designed to minimise waste and overproduction, and we are committed to craftsmanship that embraces sustainability.

ENVIRONMENT

CARBON EMISSIONS

It is of importance to Scabal that we demonstrate a
commitment to sustainable practices by measuring our
carbon emissions and transitioning to more efficient
operations to reduce our footprint. We have modelled
science-based near-term emissions reduction targets to
reduce our Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2030 from a 2021
baseline, in line with industry best practice and climate
science.

ENVIRONMENT

WASTE

Waste in the fashion industry is a significant challenge. Approximately 75% of total fashion waste globally is landfilled or incinerated, and 10% of the global textile market is composed of recycled materials. Scabal group are committed to a low-waste business model, and we already encourage responsible consumption and a slow- fashion approach. However, we acknowledge there is more that can be done. In 2021, we calculated our waste emissions, and will be using this as a baseline going forward to better understand how we can create sustainable waste practices.

MATERIALS

We believe that sustainable and ethical sourcing is the foundation of our quality and craftmanship. We are focused on improving how we source raw materials for our own mill as well as others within our supply chain, so that we can continue to create beautiful, high quality products that are made with the planet and its people in mind.
