The Gentleman's Guide to Suit Care

A meticulously crafted suit is an investment in style and confidence. Proper care ensures it remains impeccable for years. Follow these steps to maintain the pristine condition of your Scabal suit:

1. Choose the Right Hanger

Opt for a broad, contoured wooden hanger to support the suit's shoulders and maintain its silhouette. This prevents unwanted creases and preserves the garment's structure.

2. Allow Time to Breathe

After wearing, let your suit rest for at least 24 hours before storing. This pause allows the fabric to release moisture and odors, helping the fibers return to their natural state.

3. Brush and Steam Regularly

Instead of frequent dry cleaning, use a soft-bristled clothes brush to remove surface particles. Occasional steaming can eliminate wrinkles and refresh the fabric without the harsh effects of chemicals.

4. Limit Dry Cleaning

Reserve dry cleaning for when it's truly necessary. Over-cleaning can degrade the fabric's quality. When needed, entrust your suit to professionals experienced with fine wool garments.

5. Store with Care

Protect your suit by storing it in a breathable garment bag, avoiding plastic covers. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and maintain fabric integrity.

6. Travel Smart

When transporting your suit, use a dedicated garment bag or fold it carefully along natural seams. Upon arrival, hang it promptly and use a steamer to remove any travel-induced wrinkles.

  • Triumph Swatch 755045

    Super 100–180 / CASHMERE

These fine fabrics are naturally breathable and resilient but require gentle care. Use a soft clothes brush after wearing, steam to remove wrinkles, and dry clean only when necessary to maintain their quality.

  • COTTON

Cotton is more durable but should still be treated with care in tailored garments. Steam lightly if needed, and prefer dry cleaning to preserve structure and finish.

  • SILK

Silk is extremely delicate and should be dry cleaned only. Store garments away from direct light, and avoid contact with perfumes or deodorants, which can stain the fabric.

  • Pure Linen Swatch 802991

    LINEN

Linen is prone to creasing, so steaming is recommended over ironing. Store on a wide hanger and avoid overcrowding in the wardrobe. Dry clean to help retain structure and longevity.
